Evia Named King County Executive's Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year

REDMOND, WA (September 21, 2017) – Evia, a leading provider of live streaming and virtual solutions for the professional event industry, was named the winner of the Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year at the King County Executive's Small Business Awards held on September 21st at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. The Awards honored winners in seven categories.  Evia joins the six other category winners chosen from among 28 finalists and hundreds of nominees.

"It is such an honor to win this award," said Hilary Laney, President and Owner of Evia. "I am proud to lead a team of innovative, talented and ambitious people, and I always appreciate the opportunity for them to be represented in a positive light. I am also excited to see King County recognize the value in women-owned businesses within the region. It helps break barriers and hopefully inspires other women to pursue their aspirations."

The event was hosted by King County Executive Dow Constantine.  According to Constantine, "The challenges of establishing and opening a business are daunting, and success requires dedication, innovation and resourcefulness. These inventive and hard-working entrepreneurs offer a vision of what is possible to the next generation of business owners."

The awards ceremony was emceed by Patranya Bhoolsuwan of KIRO TV news. Seahawks' drumline, Blue Thunder, provided a raucous kickoff to the morning's festivities, which were attended by finalist companies and elected officials from across King County.
