Manager

SUMMARY

We’re a creative and energetic team looking for a Technical Program Manager wanting a fun, fast-paced work environment.  Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Evia’s Technical Program Manager leads the project and technical teams who deliver our clients cutting edge content and event solutions. The ideal candidate would have a passion for technology, quality management, and effective business process and excel in an environment that supports innovative problem solving and encourages and rewards new methods and ideas.  Interested candidates must have a breadth of technical knowledge, great communication and collaboration skills, intense customer empathy, and razor-sharp focus on execution and delivery exceeding expectations.

This job requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary. The job centers around developing new ideas, systems and technology, and analyzing and improving on old ones. A high level of expertise is expected and the ability to spot and correct errors is important. Work must be done right and quickly, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal and demanding the highest quality work from coworkers and subordinates. The broad scope of the job demands a factual, direct and authoritative style of communication.

The Evia Approach starts with strategy. Getting to know your project/event goals so we can develop a viewer experience that enables you to achieve those goals. We then identify the need for each role and analyze the needs and requirements for each resource, from creative concept to development and testing through implementation, execution and validation. Manage the scope and budget, constantly analyzing the productivity and quality of our team throughout the project/event lifecycle. Manage internal security groups and accessibility for all media distribution on Microsoft events/projects. This support is ongoing and occurs throughout the year, not tied to a specific project.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage communication, innovation, and process documentation with other suppliers, including hardware/technology providers.  Supervise and lead multiple projects from beginning to end; develop detailed project plans containing a well-defined work breakdown structure, activities & tasks, dependencies, a resource-loaded schedule, resource plan; as projects require, develop risk management plan, quality plan, acceptance plan, financial plan, communications plan, procurement plan, training plans, or other specialized plans.

  • Supervise execution activities such as monitoring and controlling overall plan and deliverables; report to stakeholders and Executive Team on status of schedule, cost, quality, change, risks & issues, readiness, and acceptance; manage project dependencies and the critical path; proactively manage any changes in project scope and troubleshoot problem areas.

  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Set and continually manage project expectations with Project Managers, team members and other stakeholders; delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members; influence them to take positive action and accountability for achieving results.

  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the program(s); identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team in a timely and constructive manner.

  • Manage client account inquiries (recurring and new business) from discovery call through to implementation of the events.

  • Work closely with the Leadership Team to keep them advised on client expectations, concerns, successes, opportunities; visibility into team member interactions, concerns, and successes; strategize new approaches to events that will positively impact the growth of the business and ultimately increase revenue.

  • Work on fast-paced environment leading and controlling multiple projects simultaneously.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Program Management: BA or work experience relevant to Management Information Systems, Systems Development, or Project Management; Expert level project management skills and proficiencies, with a minimum of 3 years successfully managing projects of high complexity as reflected in: size of project, cost of the project, size of project team, depth and breadth of project manager role & responsibility, span of project impact (i.e., enterprise-wide, multi-departmental, or having a major market or external impact); ability to breakdown goals into clear measures, objectives, and tasks; communicates openly with all stakeholders in a timely manner; gives clear direction that brings out the best performance in others.

  • Building Teams: Defines success in whole team terms, encourages problem solving and welcomes input from all team members; creates a strong sense of morale and teamwork regardless of reporting relationship; High degree of emotional intelligence (EQ), excellent leadership, business acumen, and political awareness; Excellent leadership skills and ability to influence stakeholders, and drive decisions to closure; adept at moving executive and senior management to action.

  • Customer Relationships: Determined to meet customer expectations by delivering results on-time and on-budget; Establishes and maintains trust with clients through honest communication, a willingness to take responsibility for one’s actions, and an ability to find common ground; Uses humor to ease tension and find solutions to customer issues.

  • Process Management: Experience developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes; Experience with formal change management programs/models; Builds and defines processes to deliver results; Understands how to simplify complex issues or systems; Can see opportunities for synergy, integration and collaboration and surfaces as appropriate; Allows ambiguity, errors, forgiveness, and human interaction to occur throughout any established process; Proficiency using Office 365 products.

  • Drive for Results: Strives for individual and team success; Both bottom line and timeline focused; unwilling to give up before project or task is complete; Will not compromise ethics or values to achieve end result. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; Process oriented with strong attention to details and ongoing improvements.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of Project / Program Management experience.

  • Basic understanding of code programming including C#, Python and REST API.

  • Basic understanding of cloud computing.

  • Experience staffing and supervising teams.

  • Able to collect, analyze and present data sets support project goals and initiatives.

  • Experience managing projects using agile– Scrum / Kanban methods to track daily project progress/risks.

  • Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle from conception to delivery.

  • Experience with managing large cross-functional projects.

  • Passion for learning new tools and technologies. 

  • An understanding of testing, DevOps, automation.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities – must effectively communicate with technical and non-technical people.

  • Ability to travel, work long hours/weekends as necessary.

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
